How to pick the right hotel when traveling with a baby!
For most people picking the right place to stay sets the tone for the holiday. No matter if you're "out all day" you actually spend so many hours at your accommodation (sleeping, having breakfast, getting ready to go out or for bed, unpacking, etc)
1. Be close to attractions
We love not having to be on public transport for too long when traveling. We want to explore what we came for for as long as possible and eliminate long bus/ train journeys especially while traveling with a baby/ toddler who is more impatient than us ;)
2. Spacious room
Our accommodation can no longer be a tiny hotel room enough to fit 2 people and 1 suitcase. We now need space for a cot, pram, extra luggage and ideally space for some play time!
3. Access to public transport
We love not having to walk for too long to get on the underground or bus! Especially if it's hot, cold, raining etc we just want to get on our train and get to our destination!
4. Anything that makes our lives easier!
Each city and country has its own particularities. We do our research in advance and make sure that our accommodation takes that into consideration. You can check things like is there a lift, a mini market nearby, a kettle, what are the reviews like regarding insulation, etc
Traveling and especially with a baby requires more effort than our average day at home so we do whatever we can to make our lives easier while we're there! And booking the right accommodation is one them!
