Things to do in Düsseldorf with a baby

Düsseldorf is considered the fashion capital of Germany! It is the perfect combination of traditional and modern architecture. We went there with an 8 month old baby and thankfully we weren't limited to what we could do.

1. Rhine Tower

The city's most recognisable landmark, a 240 metre tower on the banks of the river Rhine. You can best appreciate it from across the river or at night time as it changes colour.

2. Königsallee

This is an urban boulevard full of fashion showrooms and luxury retail stores. The best part is there is a landscaped canal that runs along its center. It is perfect for a stroll with a pram. Nicknamed Kö by the locals, the Königsallee is by far Germany's busiest, upscale shopping street.

3. Hofgarten

This is the first and oldest public garden in Germany! Great for a stroll with kids when the weather is good. The park is around 28 acres and has flowerbeds, trees as well as a pond in the middle.

4. Rheinuferpromenade

This is a beautiful promenade on the right bank of the Rhine. When the sun is shinning this is where all the locals come to for a walk. Start your walk from the Parliament all the way to the harbour.

5. Altstadt

The old town of Düsseldorf - small but powerful! Packed with restaurants, cafes and bars. It is great both during the day for a wander on the cobbled streets but also at night when it comes to life for everyone who wants to enjoy some German beer!

Lastly, Düsseldorf is known for its Christmas markets as it doesn't only have 1 but 7 themed markets that people from around Europe travel to enjoy!
