Things to do in Cairo with a baby

Cairo! The capital of Egypt and largest city in the Arab world!

I have to admit that Egypt was the hardest country to navigate with a baby out of the 10 we've been to so far. But it is definitely doable if you do your research and have a plan.

Here are the top things to do:

Cairo, Pyramids, World wonder, Egypt with a baby, Family travel, Family vacation, Family holidays, Family trips

1. The Pyramids of Giza

The absolute must-see sight of Cairo is of course the Pyramids. It is the only standing Wonder of the Ancient World! You can spend anything from 30 min to 2 hours walking around to different spots to appreciate the view. Going inside the pyramids with a baby isn't advised as the space is very cramped. Bring your baby carrier with you as the sight isn't stroller friendly.

2. The Sphinx

The Sphinx is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and one of the most recognisable statues in the world! It's a 5 min walk from the Pyramids and entry is included in your ticket.

3. The Egyptian Museum

There are many museums in Cairo but the best one in my opinion is the Egyptian Museum. You will see so many artefacts, mummies and sarcophaguses. And the main exhibition is the one of Tutankhamun which includes many of his belongings that were buried with him!

4. The Nile

Last but not least take a walk by the Nile. Cairo pavements aren't always stroller friendly but if you just follow the river you will be walking on a very wide pavement. There are also both day and night cruises that you can take to enjoy the view.
