Things to do in Singapore with little kids

We are lucky enough to have been to Singapore twice for a month with kids (baby and toddler stage)!

Singapore is one of the easiest destinations in the world to visit with young children. It's clean, safe, stroller-friendly and packed with attractions that have been designed with families in mind. Here are some of our favourite things to do.

1. Let the Kids Run Wild at the Marina Bay Waterfront Playground

One of our favourite free spots in Singapore!

Located along the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, this fantastic playground has climbing frames, slides, swings and plenty of space for little ones to burn off some energy, all while you enjoy incredible views of Marina Bay Sands.

It's the perfect place to stop after exploring the bay, especially in the evening when the weather is a little cooler.

2. Visit the Famous Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre

No trip to Singapore is complete without visiting a traditional hawker centre, and Lau Pa Sat is one of the most famous.

There are dozens of food stalls serving local favourites including satay, chicken rice, noodles, dumplings and fresh fruit juices so there's something for everyone.

If you visit in the evening, don't miss Satay Street, where the road outside closes to traffic and fills with sizzling barbecue stalls. It's a brilliant atmosphere for families.

3. Spend a Day at Singapore Zoo

This is honestly one of the best zoos we've ever visited.

The enclosures are beautifully designed to feel natural, allowing you to get very close to the animals without feeling like they're behind cages.

There are also water play areas, playgrounds, feeding sessions and animal encounters throughout the day, making it easy to spend an entire day here with young children.

4. Visit Gardens by the Bay

Even if you've seen photos before, nothing prepares you for seeing the Supertrees in person.

Children love wandering through the gardens and you can even do a Supertree walk up high.

If you're visiting in the evening, stay for the free Garden Rhapsody light and music show!

5. Ride the Cable Car to Sentosa

Getting to Sentosa becomes an attraction in itself.

The cable car offers incredible views over the harbour and the city skyline, and our kids loved spotting ships far below.

Once you arrive on Sentosa, you'll find beaches, attractions, playgrounds and plenty of family-friendly restaurants.

6. Cool Off at Palawan Beach

Sentosa's beaches are great for families.

Palawan Beach has calm, shallow water that's ideal for little ones, plus nearby playgrounds, cafés and plenty of shaded areas.

It's an easy place to spend a relaxed afternoon after sightseeing.

7. Walk Through Jewel Changi Airport

Even if you're not flying that day, Jewel is worth visiting and it's free.

The indoor waterfall is absolutely stunning and there are shops, restaurants and plenty to explore.

Your kids loved watching the world's tallest indoor waterfall through the centre of the building.

If you have extra time before your flight, this is one airport where arriving early is definitely worth it.

8. Explore Little India and Chinatown

These colourful neighbourhoods are full of interesting sights, markets and delicious food.

It's a great way to introduce children to Singapore's multicultural heritage while trying different snacks and wandering through vibrant streets.

The bright buildings and decorations make it a fun place for family photos too.

9. Stay for the Marina Bay Light Shows

One of the best free experiences in Singapore happens after sunset.

Both Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay host spectacular evening light shows that our kids loved.

Grab an ice cream, find a spot by the waterfront and enjoy one of the most magical evenings you'll have in Singapore.

Singapore is one of those destinations that makes travelling with small children feel easy. From world-class attractions to incredible food and plenty of free outdoor spaces, it's a city where both parents and little ones can have an amazing time.
