Villa Apolline 1892: A Beautiful Family-Friendly Villa in the South of France
We have just spent an amazing few days in the South of France and I need to tell you about our villa!
If you're dreaming of a trip to the South of France with family or friends, finding somewhere that gives you plenty of space while still being close to everything is the perfect option. We had exactly that in Villa Apolline 1892 in Grasse! A beautiful, spacious villa with a heated pool, 5 en-suite bedrooms and the charm of the beautiful South of France!
We stayed here with family and friends, and it was an amazing place to spend time together and relax!
Where is Villa Apolline?
Villa Apolline which was built in 1892 and it's in the historic town of Grasse, close to Cannes.
Grasse is often considered the perfume capital of the world. The town itself has plenty of French charm, with pretty streets, cafés, restaurants and little shops to explore. We had some great food in the town square!
One of the things we particularly loved about the villa's location is that you don't need to get in a car every time you want to go somewhere. The town centre is around a 5 minute walk from the villa, making it really convenient for picking up fresh croissants for breakfast, going out for dinner or simply wandering around and enjoying the atmosphere.
It's also a great location if you're hoping to explore more of the French Riviera.
Getting to the villa from Nice Airport
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the closest major airport to the villa.
From Nice Airport, Villa Apolline is around 30 minutes away by taxi.
The villa can arrange a taxi or van transfer for you with a baby seat, which is a convenient option if you're travelling with your family, lots of luggage or a larger group. Alternatively, Uber is also an option.
Five bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms
One of the biggest advantages of Villa Apolline 1892 for groups is the amount of space.
The villa has five bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, which makes it particularly well suited for larger families, multiple families travelling together or a group of friends.
Everyone has their own space and there's no queue for the bathroom in the morning!
It also meant that we were able to enjoy a group holiday without feeling like we were constantly on top of each other.
A huge living space
Inside, the villa feels very spacious, with a large living room and communal areas where everyone can spend time together.
There are also balconies where you can enjoy the sunshine and take in the atmosphere of the South of France.
And, of course, one of the best things about being in this part of France is the weather. There's something about opening the doors, stepping into the sunshine and knowing you have an entire day ahead of you to relax and explore.
The heated pool
For us, the heated pool was one of the highlights.
Having a heated pool means you can actually make the most of it without worrying quite about whether the water will be warm enough, particularly when you're travelling with children.
It was also the perfect place to spend a slow afternoon. We swam, relaxed by the pool, let the kids play and simply enjoyed being on holiday.
When you're travelling with children, having a villa where the accommodation itself can be part of the holiday is such a bonus. You don't need to have plans every minute of the day.
Outdoor dining and barbecue
Outside, there's a lovely back garden with space to sit down and enjoy meals together.
You can have breakfast outside, enjoy dinner as the evening gets cooler or have a barbecue with everyone together.
The villa is particularly well equipped for this, with everything you need for a barbecue ready to go.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need to prepare meals during your stay.
Whether you're making a quick breakfast before heading out for the day, preparing lunch for the kids or cooking dinner for the whole group, you have everything you need to make the villa feel like a home away from home.
Having our own kitchen gave us so much more flexibility, especially when our kids wanted food at completely different times to everyone else!
Communication
One thing that really stood out to us during our stay was how lovely everyone we dealt with was.
From the arrangements around the villa to our interactions during our stay, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, which makes such a difference when you're staying somewhere new.
A beautiful property is one thing, but having hosts who make you feel welcome and looked after adds another layer to the experience. They left us welcome drinks and nibbles, a cot for our youngest, a high chair and plenty of kids’ books and even a teddy.
Our thoughts on our trip to Villa Apolline
Villa Apolline is the kind of place where you can genuinely slow down and enjoy your surroundings.
You've got 5 en-suite bedrooms, a huge living space, a fully equipped kitchen, balconies, a private heated pool and an outdoor area for everything from morning coffee to evening barbecues.
And then there's the location. Being just a short walk from the centre of Grasse means you can easily head out and explore without having to rely on a car for everything, while Nice is only around half an hour away by taxi.
And honestly, there's something pretty special about waking up in the sunshine, wandering into town for the morning and then coming back to your own pool for the afternoon.
