1. Hollywood Sign
A must-see while you're there! The most kid friendly viewing point is Canyon Lake Drive. You can see it from quite close and there is a big park with a playground as well for the little ones to burn some energy!
2. Santa Monica Pier
The amusement park is a famous site in LA and a fun place to go especially with kids. You can choose between going on some of the rides or just strolling along the beach and playing in the sand or giving it a go on muscle beach! If you walk a bit further you can even see the Baywatch Tower!
3. Griffith Observatory
A beautiful place from where you can see a panoramic view of LA as well as the Hollywood sign. Going inside the observatory isn't compulsory but you do need to pay for parking per hour. There's quite a big patch of grass in front as well where you can run around or even sit down and relax for a bit!
4. Hollywood Walk of Fame
The avenue of the stars is a lot bigger than I thought! You can walk as much as you dare but the majority of people usually go around the Chinese Theatre where the Oscars take place.

5. Will Rogers Memorial Park
This is definitely my top pick if you're looking for a park. It's in Beverly Hills, it has plenty of trees for some shade and even a little pond with turtles in it!
Something to watch out for:
Getting around:
Metro - unfortunately, taking the metro is LA is not advisable as it's meant to be dangerous. I'd avoid it completely especially when traveling with kids
Taxis - taxis do NOT have baby car seats/ booster seats even at the airport. If you need a car seat for your kid then you can't get in a taxi.
Hiring a car - this is 100% the best way to get around LA. There is plenty of parking wherever you go and it's the fastest way to get around despite the famous LA traffic.
You are going to LOVE LA and will definitely want to go back!
